Laura is a scholar, advocate, friend, learner, woman, teacher, mentor, daughter, accessibility advisor, mentee, disabled person, occupational therapist (OT), Christian, artist, and activist. She is grateful to the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples, who for many centuries have cared for the lands she now calls home. Laura obtained a Bachelor of Social Work from University of Victoria, and a Master of OT and Doctorate from the University of British Columbia. Her work focuses on innovative, creative, and participatory approaches that will reach the public, policymakers, and scholars; amplification of previously silenced stories; and examination and exposure of inclusive and exclusionary practices and policies.
